Health & Safety

"Accidents, and particularly street and highway accidents, do not happen - they are caused." - Ernest Greenwood.

Accidents do happen but employees are entitled to work in places where any risk to their health and safety is properly assessed and controlled.

Employers must consult and work with employees to protect them from harm, providing training and protective clothing and/or equipment as appropriate. Employees, too, must co-operate with employers on health and safety matters and take reasonable care of their health and safety and that of others.

Anyone found to be in breach of the Health & Safety Law faces the possibility of imprisonment or a significant fine, running to tens of thousands of pounds.

HJH Law can advise on all aspects of the Health & Safety Law from prevention to enforcement through all stages of the investigation process to a Royal Court trial and sentencing.
