Civil Partnerships

"Nothing is impossible for true love." - Gandhi.

From April 2012, same sex couples in Jersey have been able to secure legal recognition of their relationship.

Among other things, this means that same sex couples can now jointly adopt; jointly purchase their home; be treated as next of kin when it comes to making decisions regarding medical treatment and have the same rights as heterosexual couples on divorce. Inheritance is also affected.

HJH Law can provide co-habitation and pre-nuptial agreements and advice regarding all the legal implications that arise from civil partnerships. This will help protect your assets and prevent unnecessary uncertainty in the event that your relationship breaks down.
